One of the attributes of development is measurability. This attribute is important in assessing the current state of affairs and the progress that has been made overtime in various aspects of development. Effective planning requires the knowledge and understanding of past trends and current situations, and also realistic assumptions about the future. Thus, an understanding of the relevant indicators related to the different socio- economic phenomena and sectors in any given economy becomes imperative for planners. This workshop is designed to equip planners with the requisite knowledge and skills in the measurement, interpretation and analysis of socio- economic indicators in order to enhance their policy analysis and prescription potentials, and also aid effective planning.
