The overall objective of the course is to equip participants with skills, knowledge and techniques to enhance performance in the public service.

Specifically, the course will enable participants to:

  1. Appreciate the importance of target setting in work situation
  2. Identify the main output controls
  3. Apply work measures for improved performance in the public service
  4. Identify the choices managers make in designing effective performance appraisal and feedback procedures
  5. Discuss the challenges of performance contracts fo top public servants in Nigeria, and
  6. Devise appropriate incentives to motivate staff
