This course introduces the principles and practices of Data Protection and Freedom of Information legislation. It explains the key provisions of the law and practice, the need for openness and transparency, and how they affect management, records officers, legal advisers and others who provide information in response public requests.

This course is ideal for ICT managers, lawyers, data protection officers, complaints officers, auditors, press officers and records managers preparing to work with Data Protection and FOI legislation and policies, as well as others unfamiliar with the subject.
