The use of data management software such as Microsoft Access greatly reduces the limitations of the manual approach to information planning, control, storage and retrieval as well as information dissemination. Microsoft Access, which is a database management system, is an application software designed for information storage and retrieval in a very convenient and efficient way. In fact, it has been acclaimed as a veritable tool of managing corporate information.
In spite of the potential and actual benefits of the Microsoft Access software as a data base management system for building a formidable management information system, many organizations have not really appreciated the elegance of this package in information management while those that appreciate it have not fully understood how to fully utilize its powerful facilities. The workshop is the continuation of the “MS-Access Database Application Workshop for Managers and Personnel Officers”, and as such is mandatory for those that have attended it, so as to fully appreciate the use of the software.
At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Identify basic fields needed to design database structure
- Create multiple tables with the use of relationships
- Create calculated fields in forms
- Apply the use of switch board manager to design menu driving applications
- Filter records from database with the use of query
