Preventing falls from height should be a priority for employers as well as ensure that work at height is actively managed so that people are not harmed. Participants will acquire knowledge on how to plan for and perform work at height using appropriate equipment, following procedures and taking necessary precautions. This course will provides participants with knowledge and skills to correctly approach working at heights and the processes required to undertake evaluations of risk associated with height applications. This training is designed for those who may be responsible for or who may perform work at height.

  • Risk Assessment methods relevant to Work at Height Hazards
  • Preventive measures relevant to Work at Height
  • Fall Protection Equipment
  • Fall Protection Plan
  • Permit-To- Work (PTW) for Work at Height
  • Fall Prevention Plan (FPP) and its components, including emergency response for WAH
  • Site management and oversight
  • Good practice for:  Ladders and Step Ladder, Mobile Towers, Roof Work

 Aims and Objectives

The course is designed to increase awareness of the risks of working at height and of using access, ladders or platform equipment. At the end of the course participants will be able to:

  • State what is meant by working at height, and what legal requirements when carrying out such work
  •  State the fundamentals of reducing risk from working at height
  • Carry out a suitable and sufficient assessment of the risks when working at height and the processes required to undertake evaluations of risk associated with height applications
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the work permit system for working at height
  • Demonstrate awareness of height emergency scenarios and the procedures required in an emergency situation.
