This training session is designed to introduce records managers, archivists, and librarians to the issues of ensuring future access to digital assets, and that future could be as soon as 5-10 years from now, when current systems will be obsolete and your digital assets at risk of irretrievable loss.
Modern records managers must be familiar with the nature and challenges associated with the preservation of electronic records. Without digital preservation, these records will not remain accessible over time in a way that can be considered authentic and reliable.
Participants in this course will be able to assess available preservation strategies for their organizations and understand the role, purpose and nature of digital repositories.
