This Seminar on Fund Accounting will examine how Fund Management Companies record and reflect the range of trades, security movements, cash movements and adjustment activities on their internal accounting system. As part of our focus, we will explore how these internal records are used to satisfy financial and regulatory reporting requirements.

Topics to be addressed include trade life cycle, income processing, pricing and valuation, corporate actions, fund level and investor level management and incentive fee calculation, fee accruals and payments. The seminar will also cover such areas as, subscription and redemption recording, cash and position reconciliation, NAV calculation and will look at how to go from NAV calculation to investor and financial statements. The seminar will not, however, deal with fair value and hedge accounting which is a topic for a more advanced fund accounting seminar coming up soon.

The training will be facilitated by Uche Ndimele. Mr. Ndimele has over 40 years’ cognate industry and product experience in the finance world. Mr. Ndimele was Assistant Vice President, (Hedge Fund Accounting and valuation) at JP Morgan Hedge Fund Services in Greenwich, Connecticut, USA. Prior to this, he worked for HSBC Alternative Fund Services in New York as supervisor of Derivatives Valuation for over 5 years and as Training Manager at Advent Software Inc, Data Management Services Division in New Rochelle, New York where he trained new employees on portfolio accounting and investment performance measurement. He also worked as a consultant at Graham Capital Management, a $7.1b multi strategy hedge fund based in Norwalk, Connecticut, USAMr. Ndimele has facilitated in a variety of training programs to an international clientele on economic and finance related issues both in Africa and the US. He possesses excellent financial products knowledge and understands the quantitative aspects of product valuation and analysis.Mr. Ndimele has BS and MS degrees in Economics from the University of Benin, Nigeria and an MBA degree in Accounting from the University of Phoenix, Arizona. He also holds the Certified Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) certificate and the Professional Risk Managers’ (PRM) Association certifications in addition to being a Certified Public Accountant from the state of Massachusetts.
