Recently, there have been cases of fire incidents which have led to loss of lives, property damage and money loss. These occurrences would have been prevented if only there was safety consciousness in the workplace. Employees tend to ignore minor unsafe practices and unsafe conditions in the workplace; and these are the main causes of organizational losses. These types of industrial incidents would have been forestalled if the right action was taken.
The preventive measures could just be mere changing of position, postures or spending little amount of money to buy such defective materials. People usually ignore the importance of safety in their organization, maybe because of the money to be spent. You will agree with me that when a fire incident occurs, it damages property worth millions of Naira; reputation of the company will be dented and the business in some cases may even go into extinction. It is therefore worthwhile to spend a token to forestall future unsightly incident. It is saddening to hear lost of lives, property damage and even business go into extinction because of fire incident that would have been prevented if the right step was taken.
Most fire incidents that resulted into damage of property could have been prevented by even a cleaner if such staff has the awareness; this training is meant to educate every staff on basic fire prevention, protection techniques.
At the end of the training, participants will be able to:
- Operate the firefighting equipment, fire extinguishers
- Fight fire with the available firefighting equipment
- Prevent fire outbreak.
