To ensure scalability of learning and cost efficiency, organizations have adopted the train- the- trainer model - A training strategy , where subject matter experts and a pool of employees who are interested in facilitating learning sessions are equipped with the required knowledge and skills to deliver workplace learning in a professional and impactful manner.
Conducting a training session requires specific skills and knowledge of how people learn as knowledge and expertise in a subject are not enough to guarantee training effectiveness .
Workplace learning facilitators have tremendous influence on learning payoff at individual and organizational levels and as such, train- the- trainer approach is essential to a successful staff development strategy.
Our intensive and highly interactive Train –the- trainer program will expose participants to best practice training methods and techniques to deliver engaging and compelling workshops that improves learner’s retention and motivation
Skills and concepts such as facilitating, training needs analysis, effective learning delivery tips, various learning styles, key adult learning principles and strategies to integrate them into the learning design will be covered extensively.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the program participants will
- Understand how to prepare and deliver learning using an effective and consistent approach
- Have a deeper insight of the seven rules of a successful training program and the characteristics of an effective trainer
- Be more proficient in evaluating the effectiveness of learning using training evaluation strategies and models
- Adapt the various learning styles and the sound principles of adult learning in the design and delivery of learning
- Develop appropriate strategies for handling difficult learners and classroom disruptions
- Understand how to handle nervous mannerisms and handle questions and answers sessions more productively
- Write program objectives and evaluate the effectiveness of same at the end of the program
- Enhance training impact through effective use of audio visual aids
- Use a variety of strategies to motivate and stimulate active engagement of participants
- Understand how to use instructional materials to deliver more meaningful and result oriented training
- Make learning payoff by using by using effective presentation tips to impact knowledge
- Handle learning as a process using the ADDIE model
- Communicate more effectively using verbal and non-verbal skills
- Carry out training needs analysis using a more structured approach to ensure fit-for-purpose learning interventions
- Provide feedback on learners’ performance during training sessions and post training
- Understand the roles and responsibilities of an effective trainer
- Provide effective post training support that enables transfer of learning to the work place
- Determine if a performance gap is skills related or not
- Get training sessions off to a good start and reinforce key learning concepts using appropriate strategies
- Have a better insight into how to run impactful learning sessions for Gen X and Generation Y
