Basic Petroleum Reservoir Geology-II
Nov 05 - 08 Nov, 2012
This course is designed for all technical professionals in the oil and gas industry, including trainee Geologist /engineers, petrophysicists, geoscientists, and operations personnel who need an introduction to technical theories, practical methodology and knowledge used for reservoir understanding and the formation of oil and gas traps. COURSE OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this course, participants will gain experience and an understanding of concepts for basic geology and main pillars to understanding of the geological principles used to better understand the reservoir behaviour and prospect /leads evaluation ; be able to read and interpret the reservoir properties; be able to characterize oil or gas reservoir based on facies and sedimentologic model and depositional environment of the reservoir; an understanding of the various reservoir properties which affect the oil and gas reserves and how to quantify oil in place; ability to understand the oil and gas entrapment principles, and the importance of mature source rock ,migration timing on hydrocarbon accumulation ; an understanding of the factors which play important role to have oil or gas and to avoid drilling dry holes. Course will be finalized with actual case study and questions.
