Primary school education is the springboard that any nation can use to launch itself into the bandwagon of literacy for greater percentage of its population. At the primary schooling level, headmasters represent a critical resource as they are saddled with the responsibility for the overall management and administration of their schools. Even where a nation succeeds in providing free universal primary education for its citizenry, if the Headmasters appointed to run the affairs of primary schools do not possess competency in the area of management, the educational system may not produce the needed human capital to drive the country?s development. To guard against this, it is imperative that Headmasters of primary schools should be given training in management. The workshop therefore is designed to expose Headmasters to new developments in the management field. This, inter alia, will put them in position to give more effective leadership and in turn, make their various schools achieve the determined vision, mission and goals, especially in ensuring the success of the scholars not only in academics but also in character building so that the educational field would be able to produce needed human capital to drive the country?s development.
