Corporate and political leadership, communicators, activists, NGOs and sponsors all require a great deal of day-to-day negotiating, mediation and conflict management skills to maintain peace and harmony and ensure stability in communities where they operate. The opportunities are often quite complex, involving strategic relationships, ongoing business arrangements, negotiating with stakeholders, community leaders and top decision-makers, and knowing how to play hard-ball with the big boys. Closing these deals often involves some fairly complicated “give and take” negotiating.
