This Construction Project Management Practicum Course is intended to give delegates the chance to use the skills and information they have obtained in earlier Architecture & Construction courses in a real-world setting. Participants learn to hone their problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and project management skills as they complete a course-long project, in addition to building a grasp of the professional and ethical concerns faced by tradespeople and contractors in the workplace. Because on-the-job training is so important in the construction industry, one of the main goals of the practicum is to help students find placements where it takes place, if possible, so they can start accruing hours on a worksite and gaining experience before entering the job market, like in pre-apprenticeships.

Additionally, in order to help them make an informed choice about their post-high school plans, students are introduced to the wide range of postsecondary prospects available in today's construction professions.
To fit the requirements of the local system, the course is very adaptable. Instruction may be given through work-based learning opportunities including internships, cooperative education, service learning, mentoring, and job shadowing or through classroom instruction in a lab environment with project-based learning that is driven by the business world.
