Despite widespread coverage in the press, and governments and regulators' efforts to reduce fraud, economic crime continues to be a menace to businesses around the world. Even when companies have controls in place to detect economic crime, these can often be rendered ineffective by management override or collusion.  This course provides a comprehensive overview of fraud risk management. Participants will learn how to recognize red flags, prevent fraud from occurring, detect fraud that is happening, and investigate fraud appropriately.

Learning Objectives: 

By the end of this 5 days course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the impact and costs of fraud on an organization.
  • Identify common types of fraud schemes and misconduct.
  • Recognize fraud risk factors and red flags.
  • Develop and implement a fraud risk assessment and management plan.
  • Design effective fraud prevention and detection controls
  • Establish fraud reporting and investigation procedures.
  • Conduct fraud investigations and interviewing techniques
  • Coordinate with external parties during investigations
  • Report investigation results and recommend anti-fraud controls.
