Management Workshop on Transparency and Accountability for Effective Service Delivery
By: Centre for Management Development (CMD)
Lagos State, Nigeria
Nov 03 - 07 Nov, 2014
One of the major factors that facilitate corruption in both the public and private sectors is the lack of clear and compelling guidelines in doing business. Even where they are available, the enforcement of such is based on the unfounded but Nigerian syndrome of “man-know-man”. Some traditional attitudes, beliefs and practices hamper the efficient and effective approach to productivity and service delivery. Where systems are transparent, everyone understands the criteria for actions. It is thus easy to offer rewards for jobs well done and sanctions for wrong doings. This workshop is expected to stimulate widespread public awareness of the social and economic cost of corruption in organizations and foster a positive non-partisan approach towards preventing and combating corruption in all sectors of the economy.
