Motion Graphics (MG) can be defined as graphics that use video footage and/or animation technology to create the illusion of movement. This is achieved using computer to calculate and randomize changes in imagery to create the illusion of motion and transformation. As opposed to static info graphics, Motion graphics are usually combined with audio, which makes them closer to films.
Today, as new media (through various digital platforms) continue to seek prominence in dictating how we live our lives, MG is constantly employed and explored in visual communication not only because of its ability to combine video, text, special effects, data visualization, speech, and even 3D to create breath-taking animations but also because it adds elements of time and
space into the world of info graphics thereby breathing life into an otherwise static content.
Similarly, MG can be a powerful mechanism to assist various programs in distributing current, up-to-date media messages as it provides a more cost effective, efficient alternative to typical video projects. As a result, MG can be
used for several applications including news, sports, live events, concerts, religious projects, post production, branding, game shows, reality TV, corporate video, Social and Mobile media platforms and educational purposes among others.

Objectives
1. Introduce participants to basic Animation techniques.
2. Identify various tools in Adobe After-Effects software as well as provide various creative techniques and processes to explore them.
3. Teach participants how to conceptualize ideas for animation in Motion Graphics (Each participant will be taught how to generate ideas based on their discipline)
4. Expose participants to the art of deploying Motion Graphics animation to various disciplines.
5. Equip participants to create visually compelling and effective communication between content providers and users.

  • Integrating Photoshop and Adobe Bridge into After-Effects
  • Compositing complex scenes in After-Effects
  • Syncing audio and visual elements
  • Rendering in appropriate formats
