In recent times, staff rationalization exercises have been carried out at an alarming rate thereby subjecting the hitherto productive employees to a good measure of financial stress. Many individuals and management of organizations have failed to provide for the retirement and pension funds respectively. In many cases, there is either no provision at all or the provision is inadequate. The consequence is that the retiree suffers untold hardship in the less productive and old age.
