Nigeria has had different educational policies and programmes over the years. The current 9-3-4 system metamorphosed from the 6-3-3-4 system. The UN has included among the MDGs, educational sector development as a key area for national development. Under this platform, the UBE, under UBEC in Nigeria, has been put in place to achieve this goal as a member country of the UN. Despite these different policies and programmes, the attainment of the national educational objectives has not been achieved. Thus, the need to re-examine the existing educational policies and programmes for national development cannot be overemphasized. This is, therefore, the rationale for running this workshop.
