By: Centre for Management Development (CMD)
Abuja FCT, Nigeria
Nov 26 - 30 Nov, 2012
Nigeria?s current development planning strategy is anchored on the National Vision 20:2020. The Federal Government is determined to achieve its vision of belonging to one of the world?s 20 largest economies by the year 2020, and it is one national objective that all the top officials of the administration readily connect to. This aspiration emerged on the realization that the endowment of Nigeria in material and human resources places her in a good position to achieve greatness. Harnessing these resources is a major prerequisite for attaining the aspiration, which will create a significant improvement in the nation?s economy. It is well recognized that effective implementation of identified policies and programmes is the key to the success of the Vision 20:2020. This, in turn, requires a consistent and sound macroeconomic and sectoral framework, complementary and effective institutions and laws, and adequate and reliable sources of finance. Against the background of these requirements, this workshop seeks to sensitize various stakeholders to the key elements of the framework for implementing Vision 20:2020.
