This 5day introductory level training course focusses on the fundamental asset management, maintenance and reliability principles.

Day 1

  • Delivers a thorough overview of asset management
  • Providing participants with the information to understand the fundamentals of asset management
  • How they can provide benefits to an organization.

Day 2 and 3

  • Aims to provide participants with a sound understanding of fundamental reliability engineering concepts such as Reliability Centered Maintenance,
  • Failure Modes Effect Cause and Analysis (FMECA),
  • Condition Monitoring and Risk-Based Inspection, including data analysis and reliability predictions.
  • This section of the program will also cover relevant maintenance concepts such as Preventive, Predictive, Reactive and Proactive Maintenance.

Day 4 and 5

  • Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS),
  • Working with maintenance master data to provide participants with a basic understanding of data management and verification,
  • Asset registers
  • Hierarchies and functional locations.
  • Training content will also cover the Maintenance Build Project Workflow, including Spares and Material Management, Planning and Scheduling.

  • Understand what generic maintenance strategies are and how they are applied
  • Identify the most suitable maintenance strategy/strategies based on the asset’s failure characteristics and organizational requirements
  • Understand what a CMMS is and how it adds value to your business
  • Identify the various CMMS and determine which one would best suit your business
  • Understand the dos and don’t s of selection and implementation of a CMMS
  • Understand what a “maintenance build” is and where a CMMS fits in to this process

Assessment

Participants will complete a small assessment component at the conclusion of each day. These will then be discussed at the beginning of the next day’s workshop, with solutions and answers provided. This will provide participants with an opportunity to reinforce the knowledge gained from the previous day, allowing them to progress logically through the course content.
