Introduction to Well Testing

Well Testing is a set of planned activities that enable operators establish the properties, characteristics and behaviour of wells, through accurate flow measurement and data acquisition. It is a regular activity in the oil and gas industry and critical to effectively monitor the condition of wells and the reservoir. 

This course is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of Well Testing methods and equipment used for a Surface Well Test operation. It includes an introduction of the equipment, the procedures for Rig up/Rig down of equipment, measurement, monitoring and recording of process variables (Pressure, Temperature, BS&W, Oil gravities), function testing of equipment, deployment of emergency-shut down systems, as well as safety and hazard procedures, standards and practices. 

The training is class based and conducted in-person, with practical sessions on standard well test equipment at our facility.
