The course is designed to develop trade Law capacity in the East African Community (EAC), within the community of trade lawyers, Advocates, and economists of the East African community, in Government Ministries and agencies, as well as in the private sector and in the in civil society organizations. We understand that the growth of intra‐African trade has been constrained by a number of factors but each of the constraints can be addressed during the session/ training.

RESOURCE PERSONNEL: HANNINGTONE AMOL Hanningtone is the head of ALP Kenya and is regarded as one of the region’s best Litigators. h Hanningtone, was the Chief Executive Officer of the East Africa Law Society (EALS), with a mandate to oversee the welfare and capacity building for over 20,000 members while promoting the East African Community’s regional integration. Prior to ALP, Hanningtone has successfully served as an associate in the region’s two leading Law firms: Anjarwalla & Khanna (Africa Legal Network), and Dentons Hamilton Harrison & Mathews. He has also served as a senior in-house counsel at Kenya’s leading electricity generator; KenGen, and Stima SACCO. He is also an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.ANNABEL NANJIRA Annabel Nanjira is a Kenyan based lawyer who has a keen interest in international trade law and investment arbitration. Ms Nanjira has masters in Law degree in International Trade Law and Investment from the University of Pretoria, a Bachelors of Law Degree and is soon to be admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.She currently works as a Legal Assistant at ALP EAST AFRICA Advocates a Kenyan based law firm that focuses on litigating international trade, investment, and human rights cases before the East African Court of Justice. She has previously worked for the International Trade Centre, Trade Law Centre Africa ( TRALAC), and CUTS - Geneva
