Secure livelihoods are characterized by households that have different activities within the community that provide income, shelter, and other factors to ensure their well-being. This ensures that society has adequate resources to fall back on in times of need. Livelihood security can be promoted through improving diversity and security of resources, skills, and technologies that are available to agricultural communities. Therefore, this training is intended to enable households, communities, and countries build resilience to strengthen their ability to manage change by maintaining or transforming their living standards in the face of shocks or stresses without compromising their long-term prospects.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
- Understand how to improve and develop livelihoods in rural settings
- Engagement in SME’s and the private sector
- Develop entrepreneurship to increase their revenue streams
- Plan how to put up agricultural infrastructure and adopt agricultural practices that contribute to resilience
- Improve home-based livelihood opportunities for the rural poor
- Develop and strengthen community-based livelihoods management and disaster preparedness and response mechanisms

- Simulation: Thinking, planning, and developing an effective national policy for SME.
Module 3: Entrepreneurship
- Entrepreneurship Development Initiatives & Eco-Systems in development country
- Techno-premiership: Success Stories from crisis countries
- Emerging, Vertical Sector Opportunities in crisis countries
- Mitigating Risks & Funding Startup Enterprises
- Livelihood Entrepreneurship in the Field of Solar Energy
Module 4: Rural Development
- Rural Development in crisis country, Challenges & Poverty Alleviation Initiatives.
- Sector Focused Dialogue Session (ex: Infrastructure, amenities, ICT Services. etc.).
Module 5: Local Governance
- Introduction, Best Practices, and Challenges & Initiatives in a crisis context.

- Resource Mobilization & Participatory Budgeting
- Gender Responsive Participation.
Module 6: Rural Solar Development
- Using of Renewable Energy in the Humanitarian Context to Help Affected Communities Through Decentralization of Access to Energy.
- Bioenergy, Solar Thermal & Households Cooking Solutions.
CERTIFICATION
- Upon successful completion of the training, participants will be awarded Cynet East Africa Consultancy certificate.
