  • Steps in GRM design: context assessment, stakeholder mapping, and institutional readiness
  • Components of a robust GRM (policy, procedures, communication, tools)
  • Setting grievance resolution objectives and performance indicators
  • Risk management and integration with M&E frameworks
  • Ensuring accessibility for vulnerable and marginalized groups

Module 3: Grievance Handling Procedures and Tools

  • Intake methods: hotlines, help desks, online platforms, suggestion boxes, in-person reporting
  • Registration and tracking systems for grievances
  • Grievance assessment and categorization
  • Response timelines, roles, and decision-making authority
  • Feedback, escalation, and appeals processes
  • Recordkeeping and reporting templates

Module 4: Implementation, Communication, and Awareness

  • Operationalizing the GRM at project or organizational level
  • Building staff capacity for grievance resolution
  • Communicating GRM procedures to internal and external stakeholders
  • Encouraging grievance reporting: building trust and protection from retaliation
  • Integrating GRM with other accountability mechanisms (ombudsperson, audits, HR)

Module 5: Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning

  • Key performance indicators for GRM effectiveness
  • Tools for tracking grievance trends and systemic issues
  • Lessons learned and feedback loops for continuous improvement
  • Reporting to management, donors, and stakeholders
  • Case studies: successful grievance systems from public, private, and development sectors

Delivery Method
